Lessa
My first attempt at a yarn wig for my plush dolls. Lessa has three different types of yarn mixed together for her wig. I used the tutorial from Crafty Sheep's blog http://starrysheep.com/crafty/?p=103. It was super easy and the results, I think, are great!
You can find Lessa in my etsy shop! http://www.pocketswithposies.etsy.com

Fabric Chain Countdown!! Tutorial
Do you like to countdown important dates with your children (or even solo)? Maybe you like decorating with paper chains but don't want to take the time to make them only to throw them away as you rip each link off. Well this is the perfect solution for you! Make a fabric chain countdown with your favorite fabrics and always have fun decorations on hand. :) It's fun and easy to do. Keep reading if you'd like to try it out! I like to have 31 on hand so I can countdown any month I need.
What you need:
* Fabric in as many colors/patterns as you like. You will need 31 rectangles that measure 4"x12"
* Interfacing - 31 measuring 4"x12"
* Velcro
Step 1: Fuse the interfacing to the wrong side of the rectangles.
Step 2: Fold rectangles in half RIGHT SIDES TOGETHER and sew along the long edge.
Step 3: Iron the seam open in the middle of the tube.
Step 4: Sew along on short end, clip corners and turn.
Step 5: Iron again making sure the seam is in the middle of the tube.
Step 6: Fold open end in and sew along the entire outside of the tube.
Step 7: Attach the Velcro to your link. You will have one on the outside (the side without the seam) and the one on the underside (with the seam).
Step 8: Repeat until you have as many chain links as you desire.
Step 9: Enjoy!
If you don't want to make these yourself, I have some available in my etsy shop!

Elise
I am finally finished with this cute little dollie; her name is Elise. I'm just finishing up the pattern details and want to remake her one more time to make sure all the pieces fit and the directions are accurate. I'm a little excited with how she turned out. I really like her hair!
I love comments and try to respond to each one!

Paige - Soft Plush Rag Doll
I just finished a new doll (she's a modified Red Riding Hood pattern). I'm working on Alice in Wonderland again next.
She has a bit of detail in the periwinkle accents. I added a little to the end of the sleeves for a sort of cuff, a bib on the dress and a cute little bow for her hair. My daughter (whom I bring all my finished dolls to for final approval) loves her. Although, I haven't found one she doesn't like yet...except perhaps the emo/goth girl. My daughter is still in the Princess phase. :)
And I added a little detail on the fingers this time to see what it would look like...

Marla the Monkey
My sister-in-law asked me to make a monkey for her to give to a girl as a birthday present. She didn't want anything too girly...but I'm not sure if I pulled that one off or not. I have to add eyelashes and bows, etc. But here's what I've come up with for her. I think I'll make the face a little smaller or maybe the head a little bigger on the next draft, but overall I think she's turned out pretty cute.
And here is another Marla that I made for a customer that wanted a little more girly of a monkey for a birthday present. I changed her ears a little and like how they turned out better. I plan to have this pattern available soon too.

LRRH and The Big Bad Wolf...
You know how as a kid, some storybook stories just kind of stick with you? You read them over and over and (if you were an imaginative child like I was) act it all out in the backyard with your stuffed animals and sometimes unwilling brothers? Well, Little Red Riding Hood is one of my favorite storybook stories. I was always super close to my grandmother and frequently walked to her house, though it wasn't through wolf infested woods but merely across the street. :) I've created this little pattern for Little Red Riding Hood as a tribute to my childhood and love of my grandmother. She was sort of styled after a vintage fabric featuring LRRH but with a modern twist.
And here is the wolf laying in wait for Little Red Riding Hood to traipse on in with her basket of goodies...
Also, I'm planning on making a pattern for LRRH available in my etsy shop in the next few weeks or so. Hopefully that will work out.

Botanical Beauties Update
So I've managed to come up with a clothing pattern that I think is a good match for my botanical beauties collection. I've made a shirt, skirt, coat and a pair of shoes for Daisy. Here are a few shots of Daisy in her outfit. Would love to know what you think! :)
